Rome – The Eternal City
Anyone who has not been to Rome will be thrilled. The eternal city offers a lot! She is versatile, warm, cheerful and has an impressive, historical background. What I experienced there and what impressed me most can be found in this article.
Rome – The booking
As Rome is currently one of the most popular tourist destinations, finding a bargain on a short weekend getaway is not that hard. As a very good friend (at this point thanks again for the leadership, organization and booking :-)) the offer on the Internet, I was a bit surprised. We booked 5 days for a total of 380 €. Who now thinks that we slept in a rancid hotel … thought wrong! Our hotel was an old monastery that stood in the middle of Rome. It was a historic building (like almost all buildings in Rome), which I personally found very nice. The room was clean and quite large. If you are interested in a city trip to Rome, I can recommend the travel sites Urlaubguru and Urlaubspiraten. The special feature of these pages is that they search the entire Internet for travel snacks and you get so directly the latest offers sent to the smartphone or always something cheap finds.
Rome – Restaurants at the Colosseum
If you want to have a beautiful view of the Colosseum, you will find some nice restaurants in the immediate area. However, if you want to eat something cheap, it may be there in the wrong place, because the restaurants of course the good view pay. But if you only want a normal pizza and a soft drink, then you are about 15-20 €. Gran Caffe Martini e Rossi restaurant is located in front of the Colosseum and offers typical Italian food. If you want to get an impression of the menu, you are welcome to click HERE. Also the restaurant Ristoro Della Salute can only be recommended, because it is located right next to the aforementioned restaurant, offers the same stunning views and also offers delicious Italian cuisine. Click here for the menu and website.
I found the stay in an Italian restaurant as totally warm and cheerful. I will never forget how the older manager sat down next to us and suddenly started to sing typical Italian with his employee including a guitar and all the guests enjoyed themselves. Italian joie de vivre through and through!
